ITINERARY FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

16 July 2008

START YOUR day at the Golden Hinde on Bankside.

This replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship has also circumnavigated the globe like the original. They run regular pirate parties and also overnight living history events and children will have a great time exploring the ship.

After this jump on the 381 bus from London Bridge and head down to the Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe. Home to Isambard Kingdom Brunel's first project, this is now a scheduled ancient monument and the museum tells the story of the world's first underground tunnel.

Pop into the Brunel Engine House Cafe for light refreshments and drinks and an outdoor play area for children attached.

Further along the Rotherhithe peninsula you will find the Surrey Docks Farm, this is an inner city working farm and has a variety of animals, working blacksmiths, dairy and a variety of gardens including a herb garden of smell and texture. Children will enjoy experiencing a piece of the countryside in London.
