SOUTHWARK CAN prepare to laugh its socks off, as curiosity-packed variety evening 'Pull The Other One' takes to the stage again, writes Madeleine Lindh...
During the chilly autumn nights, few things can keep you warm like a good laugh. Comedians Martin and Vivienne Soan know this and have decided to do something about it, with their East German inspired variety evening 'Pull The Other One' coming back to The Ivy House in Nunhead.
Prop comedian Martin (whose comedy style Jonathan Ross has described as "Jean Cocteau meets Tom and Jerry") and wife Vivienne met in the 1980s and have made comedy ever since. The couple are behind comedy nights with both opera and resident art critics, and now takes to the stage again with a variety that is to include both contortionists and magicians.
Its creators call the variety night "the perfect setting for a delightfully risqué evening of charm and decadence", and at the credit crunch-defying price of £5 at the door before 8.30pm, it is worth inviting friends and family along and give it a go. Just make sure you are on time - with only two performances left this night of fun is sure to fill up quickly.
'PULL THE OTHER ONE' is at The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, SE15, on Thursday 9 October and Thursday 23 October.
