JUNIOR LYNN boxer Joey Pearson has turned in a couple of spectacular performance, responding to an ultimatum from his trainer to start performing.
The twelve-year-old had made a couple of sluggish performances in two previous encounters that led to defeats, however a heart to heart with trainer Sam Mullins has seen him score two victories with the latest taking place at the weekend.
Mullins said: "I gave him an ultimatum to start performing or he won't be going to the bigger tournaments this year. To be fair to him he has responded the right way."
The chat, as well some hard work he has put in on his technique is now beginning to reap its own rewards.
However Mullins said it was never really his talent that was in question, he added: "It was just confidence with him, he never really believed in himself, but now we are seeing him boxing a bit and see a real difference. In his last contest he boxed out of his world."
The latest result continues a fine run of form for the clubs juniors, after Frankie Newman, also aged twelve, notched a win in his latest outing.
