ENGLAND PACEMAN Alex Tudor has rejoined Surrey on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old played at the Oval for nine successful years from 1995 until 2004, during which time he earned his first test match call-up.
Tudor's England career was plagued by injury but he still played ten times for his country, taking 28 wickets in the process.
However, Tudor has proved to be a prolific bowler in county cricket, claiming nearly 350 first-class scalps so far at an average of a shade over 30.
The Londoner, who impressed on a brief loan spell at the club last term, will be looking to help Surrey bounce back after a disappointing 2008 saw them relegated to the second tier of county cricket.
Speaking last week, Tudor said: "I'm absolutely chuffed to be back at Surrey. I've spent nine years at the Club in the past and it's good to be back home and fighting fit again.
"Last season an opportunity to play some first team cricket came up at the Brit Oval and I'm really pleased that my performances then have now earned me a new contract for 2009. I'm looking forward to trying to win a place in Surrey's first eleven and then push on and do as well as I possibly can for the team."
