DUE TO the success of the first twelve weeks of the South London Girls Football League, and securing further funding from sports match, we are pleased to announce that the South London Girls League will be starting again in January 2009.

In partnership with Southwark Council, Aylesbury NDC and the London FA, the league will run centrally from Brimmington Park, Culmore Road, SE15 2RQ on Monday evenings for ten weeks, starting from 19th January 2009. 

The league will be for U11 girls (school yrs 5 & 6), and will be 6 a side.  The league Originally started through lack of competitive football for the U11 age group.

The league is looking to attract girls’ teams that may be starting out or clubs that have girls playing in their boys’ sections but want to bring them together to start a team. Schools, youth clubs and estate teams are all welcome.

There is a small entry charge of £25 per team, and this will cover affiliation fees, referees and pitch hire, although teams within Southwark will not have to pay a fee, due to funding that has been obtained from Aylesbury NDC Activate grant. 

Therefore if you are a school, estate team or club team based within Southwark the cost of this league is totally free for you. At the end of the ten weeks, there will be a trophy and medals awarded for the top team, and runners up.
