Getting a step on the housing ladder is the aim of the New Homes show
IN THIS turbulent financial climate, first-time buyers need all the help they can get if they are ever to get their feet on that elusive first rung of the property ladder. So the south east London New Homes show taking place next Friday could not come at a better time.
Organisers London & Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) are encouraging would-be home owners from Southwark and its neighbouring boroughs to come along and learn the ins and outs of buying an affordable property in the region.
The event is a fantastic opportunity to hear expert advice on home ownership from a wide range of people and organisations.
Independent advisors and solicitors will be on hand all day to offer advice. In addition, there will be a series of presentations taking place to help explain the process of buying a property on a part buy, part rent basis.
A number of housing associations will also be in attendance, giving visitors a great chance to view a large cross-section of currently available properties in Southwark and beyond.
Housing Options is the first point of call to anyone who cannot afford to buy their own home or rent a good quality house on the open market. They can help open up the possibility of buying affordable housing in London.
Tower Homes and Metropolitan Home Ownership are London's HomeBuy Agents, government appointed housing associations who provide a 'one-stop-shop' and point of contact for affordable housing options in the capital.
Tower Homes help first-time buyers by offering government funded part buy, part rent and equity loan schemes. They have already helped over 13,000 people take their first steps in property ownership and will this year help a further 1,600 people buy an affordable home.
L&Q is a not-for-profit housing association that manages more than 57,000 homes across London and the south east, and builds around 1,100 new homes each year.
The London New Homes event, which is hosted jointly by London's Homebuy Agency, Tower Homes and Metropolitan Home Ownership, takes place at the Novotel Hotel on Greenwich High Road from 2pm until 7.30pm on Friday, January 23.
