FURRY VENGEANCE - DON'T MAKE MOTHER NATURE YOUR ENEMY

28 April 2010

Dan Sanders is a businessman who lives in a sleepy town out in the sticks, but he ends up with Mother Nature as an enemy when his company decides to level the local forest in order to build a shopping centre.

The animals rally, led by a raccoon, and it's not long before they make Dan's life a complete misery
"Furry Vengeance" is a live action family comedy in which the ambitious young real estate developer, played by Brendan Fraser, faces off with a band of angry animals when his new housing subdivision pushes too far into a pristine part of the wilderness.

The raccoon is incredibly clever and he manages to get a protest going so that the animals stymie the development and teach our hero about the environmental consequences of man's encroachment on nature.

The film includes Brooke Shields as Tami Sanders, the wife of Dan, and she  returns to the screen after a 10-year hiatus from mainstream movies.  Also names such as Dick Van Dyke, Ken Jeong and Samantha Bee have also joined the cast.

The film is aimed at a young audience but adults are just as likely to be amused by the antics of the angry animals who hijack Dan's car, stuff him into a portable toilet and pretty much ruin everything he attempts to get done on a daily basis.

It is geared at a low scale reminder that we have to be careful about what we do to our surroundings - or we could be facing consequences we might not have considered.

There is nothing high brow about the intentions of the script but it does have some fast action scenes which are
bound to bring a smile to any cinema-goer's face.

It might also make us think twice about what we could be doing
to our countryside.
