A gang of super sharp scooters rolled through Peckham this week, riding on some wheely hot tyres...
The Peckham Peacocks - the world's first ever Mobility Scooter Club - roared around the streets of Peckham on Saturday, giving a lick of sixties style to scooters they met.
Women's mobility scooter formation team The Red Wheelies, and club mascot Onion the miniature bull terrier,
entertained the crowds in Peckham Square, while a skilled team of scooter mechanics were on hand to 'pimp your ride' with a free customising service.
Artist Rachael House, the brains behind the project, said: "It was fantastic, a really amazing day. There were hundreds of people there and we were really busy all day long.
"There was a real focus on disability, without it being just about disability. We had mobility scooters, wheelchairs, kids bikes, homemade scooters, even a shopping trolley someone had done up in leather and studs to be a rocker.
There was such an array of creativity and diversity of people. I would love to do it again." Peckham Peacocks was commissioned by Peckham Space for the launch of its new venue in Peckham Square.
