ONLINE POLL TO CHOOSE FILM FOR OPEN AIR CINEMA IN NUNHEAD CEMETERY

17 June 2011

An online poll is now open for people to select the film they would like to be screened outdoors in Nunhead Cemetery on Friday 9th September as part of the 2011 Nunhead Free Film Festival in September. Voters can decide from a choice of three films, THE THIRD MAN, THE LADYKILLERS and HAROLD AND MAUDE.

Simply log on to www.freefilmfestivals.org and you will see the three film options on the right hand side of the screen. Click on to the film that takes your fancy and your vote will be counted. You also have the chance to view the results, so you can see which film is currently leading.

The three shortlisted films were chosen by visitors to the recent Nunhead Cemetery open day.

Last year 350 people flocked to Nunhead Cemetary for the screening of A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH and if last year’s numbers are anything to go by this year’s film promises to attract a capacity crowd too.

"Last year's screening at the cemetery was a huge success and we hope for the same this year. It's a great way to bring the community together through film and a chance to discover a great venue just on your doorstep" says Carly Brown of Free Film Festivals, the community group which is organising the event.

This event is just one of many events taking place throughout September as part of the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festivals (8-18 September 2011). Events include bike powered screenings (one of which taking place at Peckham Rye), a tour of the lost cinemas in the SE15 area and a young filmmakers competition among many others.

Voting closes 15 July. For more details visit our website at www.freefilmfestivals.org.
