STOLE VODKA AND KID'S UNDERWEAR

18 May 2012

A Peckham grandmother who stole £72.50 worth of items from an Asda store including kids’ underwear and vodka pleaded guilty to the offence.

Fiona Bowling, 40, of Bird in a Bush Road, carried out the offence in the Old Kent Road supermarket on April 28.
Security guards saw the mother of two, who has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, pick up items including jewellery and bottles of liquor.

The court was told that she began taking drugs at the age of sixteen and was drunk at the time of the theft when she had picked up items for her grandchild.

The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared on Tuesday.
