What could be more British than a good old fashioned street party - as last week’s bumper edition of Jubilee pictures proved, it’s what we south Londoners do best.

And glance back at the photographs of yesteryear shows that although our outfits and hairstyles might have changed, street parties have stayed remarkably similar for more than a century – it’s all about a knees up with your neighbours and as much bunting as you can muster.
