A grief-stricken pensioner who was by her 93-year-old uncle’s side when he died, after he was mowed down in a hit and run accident, has spoken about the horrific experience.

Camberwell born and bred Maureen Rolfe was watched by thousands last month on Channel 4 programme 24 Hours in A&E, which showed doctors attempting to save Ernest Maloney’s life in vain. He was rushed into King’s College Hospital following a hit and run in Grove Lane.
