You are here: Southwark \ HULL CITY 4-1 MILLWALL
15 September 2012
MILLWALL SUFFERED their heaviest defeat since January with a 4-1 thumping by Hull City at the KC Stadium.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Robert Koren fired in from 20 yards, exposing the clear flaws in Millwall’s 3-5-2 formation.
Former Lion Jay Simpson made it 2-0 when he found acres of space in the box to tuck in Stephen Quinn’s cross.
Quinn was the provider again as Abdoulaye Faye sent a thumping header beyond Taylor to make it three.
Jackett belatedly switched to a 4-4-2 but the nightmare continued for Millwall as Sone Aluko went clean through and fired under Taylor, after Robinson could have seen red for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Millwall improved in the second half and claimed a consolation when the unmarked Darius Henderson nodded in Alan Dunne’s cross.
