Interview by Helen Brooks

KAY MASUDA, FILM STUDENT, BERMONDSEY

What's your favourite place in Southwark?
It's got to be Southwark Park, it's a great place to be.

What do you like most about Southwark?
There's great transportation - getting in and out of the City is really easy.

Do you recycle?
Yeah, I do actually, I think it's important to keep it up.

Are we doing enough for injured soldiers returning to Britain?
I guess so - the poppy donation thing is a really good idea but maybe we should be doing more… there are an awful lot of people returning from places like Iraq right now.

Emma Gough refused a blood transfusion on religious grounds, was it right that she was allowed to die?
I think it's her right. It's an ethical thing. Doctors obviously wanted to save her life but her beliefs should be respected.

Is it gruesome to put Tutankhamun's mummy on display?
People are going to want to see it I suppose but I'm not one of them.

Do you think Gordon Brown will really get teenagers off benefits and into work?
I really don't think so… it seems unlikely. I mean, maybe the goal is set too high.

Should we have a 'missing kids' TV channel?
Yeah, definitely because there are too many kids that go missing and you don't want people to forget about them. It's important to be constantly reminded.

Should overcrowding in prisons mean lesser sentences for criminals?
Maybe but it's not right that they don't serve the sentence they deserve, even if the prisons are overcrowded. That's not justice.

Do you want Sir Ian Blair to step down?
Yeah he should. I understand that it was a confusing situation - panic is understandable but an innocent person got killed for no reason - he should take responsibility for that.

Is there enough being done to protect kids from online predators?
I don't have kids so I'm not sure about this. Kids are difficult; they'll always find a way to do things as much as their parents don't want them to.
That means meeting up with people online as much as anything else.
