A distinctly Irish brand of warmth and friendliness greets you at the traditional Old Dispensary Irish pub. There’s plenty going on, with karaoke on Thursday evenings, traditional Irish music playing live on Sunday nights, and a popular poker night on Fridays, writes Judith Wills....

The Drinks
Come here for the bar’s most popular drink, a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. There is also a wide selection of spirits, wines, Irish whiskeys, and beers and ciders on tap.

The Food
Pop in on a Sunday for the hugely popular Irish stew, cooked according the manager’s mum’s traditional recipe. For a quick snack during the week there is a range of sandwiches available at the bar.

The Room
The pub is split into three cosy sections: at the front there are leather armchairs and a sofa with a wood-burning fire; the central bar area has heavy wooden furniture with leather trimmed benches and stools; and at the back there are a couple of wide-screen TVs for the major sports fixtures.

The Feel
A firm favourite with the thriving Irish community, the leather armchairs, free newspapers and wood-burning fire make this laid-back pub feel like a welcome extension of your front room.
