9 March 2010
Tucked away behind Southwark tube station on a quiet pedestrianised street, cocktails are the draw at this friendly bar, writes Lara Brunt...
The Drink
The cocktail list is extensive and includes Asian-influenced concoctions like Mehkong Crush, well-priced at £5.50.
There's a good selection of old and new world wines and Kronenbourg, Foster's and Japanese beer Kirin are available on tap.
The Food
There's a small menu with five dishes to choose from, including a platter of perennially popular Thai snacks like spring rolls and spicy fish cakes for £6.50. Or order something more substantial from the adjoining restaurant.
The Room
The wooden carvings add an oriental twist but overall it's modern and minimal, with neutral colours and leather lounges. The bamboo-lined outdoor terrace is sure to be popular in summer.
The Feel
With a welcoming atmosphere, the bar is ideal for a quiet drink mid-week. There's a resident DJ on Friday nights from 8pm playing funky house to the mainly after work crowd.

- Oni Sufi - Barman
"The mojito is the most popular cocktail in here. I keep seeing regular faces which is good because you get to know them."
- Marvin Parties - Customer
"It's a nice social quiet bar. Nice atmosphere, good food. I come here maybe two or three times a month."
