EASTER 2009

As the days are getting longer, Southwark Community Games (SCG) Easter programme 2009 is
bigger than ever!  Southwark Community Games begins their Easter of sport on Monday 6th April 2009, with multisport activities occurring in over 35 venues across Southwark.

The sessions are FREE of charge, all you need to do is turn up at the session and register with one of our staff.
We are also holding a Community Sports Extravaganza in partnership with Fusion leisure on Friday April 17 at the  Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Pitches, at Elephant and Castle , next to the Imperial war museum.

The day will kick off at 11am and finish at 4pm , where there will be a chance for the young people of Southwark to have a go at a taster sessions in a variety of sports from football, rugby, and athletics to BMX and tennis.

On the sports pitches we will have football tournaments, tennis, basketball, netball, rugby and our 50m athletics track to give the young people an opportunity to try a large range of sports and maybe look out for the stars of tomorrow.

Also on the day we hope to have a local sporting celebrity to present and deliver the final results of the closing ceremony for Southwark Community Games- in which the wining Community Council Area of 2008 will be announced. In addition the awards for the Team(s) of the Year from 2008 London Youth Games squads will also be announced.

There will also be a fierce battle between the SCG coaches and their casuals in football, rugby and athletics as they compete to find out who will reign as the top SCG coaches, so come along and support your local coach.
