You are here: Borough & Bankside \ Kids \ JOIN IN THE BOROUGH BBQ
9 September 2008
A BARBEQUE is being held in Borough Market, in London's oldest food and drink market, by the trustees, who say they want to bring together the local community next week.
On Friday, September 12, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, the market will be closed off for the 300 invited guests including children from local primary schools and their parents, trustees, traders and local politicians. Food will, of course, be provided by traders of Borough Market and seats and tables will be available to ensure the guests can really enjoy their food.
There will be entertainment and activities provided for kids and adults spread throughout the evening. This will range from salsa and street dance to more food-orientated activities such as vegetable puppet sculpting, fruit face painting and burger making. There will also be story-telling provided by the Globe theatre and the Turnip prize organized by the Tate.
