13 February 2009
Two environmental enforcement officers from Peckham have denied assaulting a man after investigating complaints of noise at his flat.
Gaville Charles, 26 and of Choumert Road, and Barney Joseph, 53 and of Montague Square, both pleaded not guilty to the charge at Tower Bridge Magistrates Court last week.
The pair are said to have attacked the complainant on July 8 last year, having gone to his Peckham home to look into complaints that he was making too much noise.
Both men were said to be of "impeccable character" and vigorously denied the charge.
They were remanded on bail and are due to return to Tower Bridge for a review on February 19. No date has been set for their trial.
