It is not a Russian bar, but the new Most Café Bar (located literally in Tower Bridge) has a definite Russian flavour.
Owner, Rimma Hall, and several of her bar staff hail from Russia and although the name suggests a drinking spot with the 'most' to offer, the word itself (pronounced like moss with a 't') means 'bridge' in Russian.
Although SE1 has its fair share of bars and eateries for locals and London Bridge workers, they're water under the bridge compared to this place.
The drinks
Although punters can order a large variety of drinks from draught and bottled beers to Champagne cocktails and Most (bloody) Marys, the favourite at Most is vodka. Because the Russian flavour spreads from the owner to the bar staff, they've been sure to stock a variety of the hard stuff and it's not just from Russia.
The Food
Most Café Bar caters for either those wanting to have a quick bite or a sit down dinner. While the drinks menu has a more international theme, the food is rather British. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Most cooks up bacon sandwiches, eggs Benedict and even a humble fish pie. Of course, when you're in a Russian's bar - do as the Russians do and order the stroganoff (well, it's beef stew with a Russian fusion).
The Room
Inside Most is surprisingly modern considering the bar is set into an original alcove of Tower Bridge. Once some kind of gatekeeper's closet, Most is now a funky little space with a front row view of the Thames.
The owners have steered clear of the over-indulgent décor found in trendy inner-city bars that pushes up drink prices, and opted for a more simple but contemporary approach. So contemporary in fact, it's easy to forget you're drinking in one of London's historic icons.
Ambience
Only in the postcode for a couple of months, Most seems to have already struck a cord with anyone from office workers and local residents to wandering tourists. Still looking to find its niche clientele, it's a welcoming bar free from any pretence.
Rimma Hall
Owner and manager
I was looking for a unique place to put a bar for a long time. When I saw this place it was just a garage and people thought I was crazy, but now it's a lovely homely bar.
Dmitry Matveyez
Barman
This is the place to come because the cocktails are fresh and the spirits are pure. It's nice even if you don't like vodka, like me, I'm a whiskey lover. Most also has a nice view and the prices are low.
Alec Cleghorn-Brown
Regular
It's a unique bar in that it's intelligently built into an iconic structure. When friends come I can bring them here because it's 'really' London. It also has probably the best bacon sandwiches in the world.

Please don't go here. It really is a rip off. I was here on Saturday 27th December. We had 2 cappucinos and one tiny muffin. The bill: £9.45
£3.75 for a tiny cappucino? Forget it. I have lived in London for years and never felt so ripped off!
