COOKOUT AT THE HORNIMAN

Five and a half thousand people are expected to turn up to a huge 'jerk cookout' in the gardens of the Horniman museum.

Comedienne Donna Spence will be hosting the event, which will see contestants selected from the best Caribbean restaurants, take aways, catering companies and hotel chefs competing against each other.

Visitors will get the chance to sample 'jerk' foods from around the world, as stands from the Caribbean and Africa will be dotted around Horniman Gardens. Foods will include Ackee, Saltfish, Flying Fish, Oildown and Jollof Rice.

There will also be a children's play area.

The event is being held at the Horniman Museum Gardens, from 2-6pm on Sunday, August 12. Admission is free.
