Vic’s final class The News was delighted to be invited by St Joseph’s School in Rotherhithe to attend a special talk given by 91-year-old Vic Farmer last week.
He spoke to a Year six class with honesty and humour about his time teaching at the school from 1948 to 1982, as well as about his experience as a RAF navigator during WW2.
On the 70th anniversary of VE Day, it is more important than ever to remember the sacrifices made by Vic’s generation – but we should also appreciate the positive impact that caring, passionate teachers like him can have on generations of the borough’s schoolchildren.
