ASSAULT DENIED

A 39-year-old from East Dulwich has denied an assault in Upland Road and will return for trial next month.

Leslie Mercer, of nearby Barry Road, pleaded not guilty to the beating of another man inside a house on the residential street on May 2.

Mercer was granted bail and will return to Tower Bridge Magistrates’ Court on June 16 for trial.
