What do you like best about Southwark?
To be honest, it's very crowded, but the people are friendly. Everyone I meet seems very friendly.

What is your favourite place in Southwark?
I really like the Old Kent road, because of the shopping - but I also like a lot of the parks. They are a really nice environment.

What would you like to change about the borough?
I don't think that I'd change much to be honest. Obviously in some places it's not as nice to look at as other places in London, but it's ok.

Barak Obama was inaugurated as the 44th president of the USA this week - what does this mean for the UK, if anything?
Now he is the president of the United States, he is the president of the world. It doesn't matter what colour he is.
If he and Gordon Brown can form a good relationship then that can only be a good thing, and things can only get better. People should stop worrying about what colour he is - he is just a man, who is president after all.

What do you think of the revelations that some school children feel so threatened by gangs that they have resorted to wearing bulletproof vests to school?
That is terrible, and it is just making the problem worse. Young kids around here have a bad upbringing, so first they must be taught properly at home. There are major problems for kids at home and parents need to encourage more appropriate behaviour. Teachers must begin to appreciate the problems too.
