ELEPHANT AND Castle is to get its own crystal palace when an ex council flat is flooded with copper sulphate, turning its interior shiny turquoise, writes Oliver Pugh...
The deluge of chemicals is part of an art project called Seizure, on the vacant Lawson Estate on Harper Road, which will admit locals to a one-off preview on Saturday, August 30.
The art, by artist Roger Hiorns, who usually employs the technique on a much smaller scale, was commissioned by Artangel and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
Hiorns has also made works with detergent, disinfectant, semen, and fire.
Bring along a copy of the 'News' to get preview access to the work before it opens to the general public on Wednesday, September 3.
It will run until Sunday, November 2.

Well I suppose a flat full of copper sulphate solution is slightly different from the usual mold and damp :-)
