DAN BRADLEY, 74, RETIRED, PECKHAM
What's the best thing about Southwark?
There's been a lot of improvement in the last five years. Years ago, people used to come out looking for a fight. That's all gone now.
What would you like to change about the borough?
Around here, things are better than they've ever been. But if you move a little bit further up the road, up to Camberwell, there may have been some improvement there, but it's not quite as good. It doesn't come up to the standard of Peckham yet.
What's your favourite place?
The area where I live. I've been there for 35 years, so it must be pretty good for me to stay that long.
Experts warn that the recession could see up to 3m unemployed by 2010. Does that make you worried?
No, I remember the recession of 80. It was backed up then, but it only went on for a year or so before we came out of it again.
Gordon Brown is a fan of the 'presumed consent' system. What do you think can be done to improve organ donation rates?
I think they should go along with that. I know everyone's not going to agree, you might get certain people who are very deeply religious who won't agree.
The Croation government has banned state firms from hosting Christmas and New Year parties due to the credit crunch. Should we do that in Britain?
Something as nice and important as Christmas, the human race would have to get very sick to turn it down.
A survey suggests that over half the UK population believe that children are “feral”. Do you think that youths are getting the short end of the stick, or is this animosity justified?
This is where nobody is going to agree with me. I think there's an evil coming onto the human race, and I don't think the young people can help it. I think they're getting carried along by an evil. And when they'll get rid of that, I don't know. I'll leave that to them.
