5 December 2007
A Southwark restaurant has won the prestigious 2008 Rémy Martin Restaurant Award.
Magdalen, located in Tooley Street, Borough, is owned by father-and-son duo Roger and James Faulks and offers punters the chance to enjoy Anglo-French cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.
The 2008 Rémy Martin Restaurant Awards, in association with the Harden's Guide, are based on over 100,000 reviews from 8,000 restaurant-goers.
Richard Harden, co-editor of the Harden's Restaurants guide produced in association with Rémy Martin, said: "The Rémy Martin awards are all about identifying the new and rising restaurants that have made the most favourable impression on diners across the UK."
"On the evidence of this year's awards, we seem to be entering an exciting new era where informality is the order of the day".
The 10th edition of the Hardens Restaurant guide is priced £14.99.
