Oxo Tower Wharf’s creative community of designer-makers celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a diamond-themed exhibition.

During June and July 2012, each designer-maker based at Oxo Tower Wharf, South Bank, will take part in a one-off exhibition marking 60 years of The Queen’s reign. Each with their own interpretation of the theme “Diamonds are...”, the exhibitors will hail Queen Elizabeth, who will pass by Oxo Tower Wharf during her Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

The exhibition officially opens in the afternoon of 31 May, with shops open until 9pm. Visitors are invited to join designers for this special evening and throughout the two-month period. In preparation for the exhibition and Jubilee celebrations along the Thames, Oxo Tower Wharf’s designer-makers have created their own bunting which will be hung on 25 May along the railing at Oxo Tower Wharf.

After the celebrations, the fabric – initially sponsored by Coin Street Community Builders to help finance this collective project – will be donated to theatres and community groups to be reused for other projects.
