21st April - Free Project Argus Workshop
When: Tuesday 21st April, 2pm - 6pm
Where: The Gallery Space, Vinopolis, Bank End, Bankside, Map
Business Initiative District Better Bankside is working with the Southwark Police and Team London Bridge BID to run another Project Argus Workshop aimed specifically at advising businesses in the SE1 area that service the night time economy to the real and serious danger of a terrorist attack.
Bars, pubs, night clubs and restaurants are crowded places that the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) sees as being particularly vulnerable to the attack plans of terrorist organisations. As crowded places, they are usually locations with limited protective security measures.
Project Argus training has been developed by NaCTSO as a way of taking delegates through the critical stages of a planned terrorist attack from the intelligence gathering visits to the target location (usually termed ‘hostile reconnaissance’), through the planning and attack phases to the handling and recovery stage.
Invitations have been sent out to businesses in the hospitality sector. If you have not received an invite and feel that you would benefit from this training, you should contact Rahima Begum on firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 020 7928 3998. Numbers are limited and priority will be given to those working in premises that clearly cater for the night time economy.
