MILLIONS OF pounds a year could potentially be saved for Southwark’s public purse after new super-sleuthing technology uncovered 2,000 suspected housing fraudsters.
The new £20,000 system, which searches through bank databases and births, deaths and marriages across the country, has flagged up 2,000 leads for investigation – with 900 leads described as “extremely promising”.
