A fundraiser has been launched for a Bermondsey pie ’n’ mash company to put on a free VE-day bash for local pensioners at Millwall.
The Bermondsey Pie ‘n’ Mash Company, ran by duo Tammy and Jamie Jukes, has launched an appeal to help two hundred OAPs mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two in May.
The event, backed by the News, will take place at Millwall Community Trust on May 8 – but it needs your help.
“Two hundred pensioners will be given a full day of entertainment, free pie and mash supplied by us Bermondsey Pie and Mash and Manzes Tower Bridge, refreshments including alcohol and transportation if required,” states the appeal, which has a £2,000 target.
“The hall at Millwall Community Trust will be decorated and we promise a wonderful day for all.”
Especially needed are local sponsors, a stage, and transportation to get OAPs to-and-from the event if they cannot make their own way there.
Anyone who wants to be involved in the day and can help out with donations, volunteering, a stage, or sponsorship should contact Tammy Jukes on 07769327683.
