A floating brasserie could soon be moored at the former spot of Rotherhithe’s beloved Wibbley Wobbley boat pub if plans are approved.
An applicant named Charlie Ruler has submitted plans to Southwark Council to build a boat to serve as a brasserie.
If given the green light, the boat would be moored in Greenland Dock at the berth of the former Wibbley Wobbley.
The much-loved boat pub was towed away in December, and had closed a couple of years earlier.
A planning application submitted to the council this month for ‘Rulers Brasserie’ stated: “The owner proposes to change the vessel to one more fitting to the area and change the use from a public house to a brasserie operating at the same location.”
The vessel would be built off-site and would be built by marine boat builders, at the instruction of a marine architect, according to the plans.
