The news that Camberwelll station may re-open a hundred years after it was closed to the public is fantastic.
Let’s hope that these are serious plans that will come to fruition – as the poor residents of SE5 have been in this position before. Despite desperately needing better transport links, they are constantly overlooked as other areas are always considered a better proposition.
However, if Mayor Boris Johnson and TfL are serious about re-opening the old station, then it should not be done this time in competition with any other area.
Take it with a heavy pinch of salt, but the suggestion is still welcome, all the same.
With Denmark Hill Station just up the road, I really don’t see any real need for it.
