A fourth man has been charged with murder after the death of 25-year-old Walworth man Reginald Ofei-Berko.
John Paul Gillespie, 43, of Carter Street in Walworth, was charged with murder and section 18 GBH. He was arrested yesterday and is due to appear in Camberwell Magistrates’ Court today.
Reginald died in hospital on August 25, hours after he was found lying unresponsive in Penrose Street, off Walworth Road. He was seen earlier that day in a Walworth Road pawn shop, which provided the CCTV image above.
Three other men who have also been charged with murder are due to appear at the Old Bailey on November 23.
They have been named by the Met Police as:
Leon Dixon, 36, of Brighton Road in Crawley was charged on September 3.
Daniel Murphy, nineteen, of St Davids Close in Bermondsey, was arrested on September 6, and subsequently charged with Reginald’s murder.
Mason Adrien-Dixon, 21, of Dickens House, Doddington Grove, Walworth, was arrested and charged with murder on September 7.
Police have told the News they believe Reginald was well known in the local area, but may have been sleeping rough in the days leading up to the incident.
