John Worboys was charged with four offences on Wednesday.
Worboys, 62, who now goes by the name John Radford, was charged with two counts of “administering a stupefying or overpowering drug with intent” and two charges of “administering a substance with intent.”
The charges relate to four separate individuals between 2000 and 2008 in London, said the police.
Worboys is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 23.
The allegations were made in early 2018, said the Crown Prosecution Service.
A CPS spokesperson said: “In September 2018, the Crown Prosecution Service received a file of evidence from the Metropolitan Police relating to allegations of non-recent sexual assault and of administering drugs to cause unconsciousness.
