The spirit of Christmas was alive and well in Rotherhithe at the Southwark People Care Association’s annual Christmas party.
The event, on Christmas Day, saw over 300 people, who would otherwise spend the day alone, transported door-to-door from their homes to Bacon’s College and treated to a traditional Christmas dinner, entertainment, raffle prizes, and gifts.
The volunteer-run charity has been holding the party since before World War II, helping to reduce loneliness and social isolation among the borough’s population.
