A man in his thirties has died in hospital today, after he was attacked in Camberwell Church Street.
Police confirmed the man’s death just after 7pm. His next of kin have been informed.
Officers received calls from the London Ambulance Service at about 9.15am, to reports of a man assaulted near the junction with Wilson Road, by St Giles Church.
A statement from Scotland Yard said: “[officers] found a man suffering stab injuries. He was taken to a south London hospital by London Ambulance Service.
“A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
“Cordons remain in place around the scene. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
The investigation has been taken over by the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
Camberwell Church Street remains closed off until further notice.
