A man in twenties was stabbed in leg yesterday afternoon outside a William Hill in Grove Vale, leading to the store closing early.
His injuries are said to not be serious and police were called at 2:09pm.
Anthony Squires, who witnessed the aftermath, told the News: “I was in the café nearby getting my usual bacon sandwich when we heard a commotion. The café had to close at 2:40 and we didn’t know what had happened.
“I couldn’t go round the way to where I live so I thought, “I’m on a mobility scooter” so I should have a look and went up. As far as I know is that someone has tried to rob the bookies and escaped through the park.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said that no arrests have been made.
