British Transport Police are appealing for information to help identify two of the three men found dead at Loughborough Junction station this morning – and have pleaded with the press and public to not share graphic images on social media.
As the News reported, officers were called to the station near Brixton at 7.34 am this morning to reports that three bodies had been found on the tracks.
In a statement given at 1pm, Superintendant Matt Allingham confirmed: “It is believed that they died earlier in the morning and their injuries were consistent with having been hit by a train.

“Office have delivered the sad news to one family that we believe one of the men was their son.
“We are still working to identify and locate the next of kin for the other two men.
“If you know who they are, please let us know.
“Our investigation is focusing on how and why the men came to be on the tracks in the early hours of this morning.
“We are aware that there are a number of speculative comments about this on social media, but it is too early for us to comment on their reasons for being on the track.
“Whilst investigations continue, our focus is on supporting those bereaved families at this difficult time and gathering as much evidence as we can.
“That includes trawling through CCTV, talking to any witnesses and forensic investigations of the scene.
“If you were in the area of Loughborough Junction this morning and think you saw anything that could help the investigation, please get in touch with us as soon as you can.
“Likewise, if you think you know the identity of these men, please get in touch.”
“We also ask that any images and footage being shared by the public keep in mind that three families have lost loved ones this morning – and that no graphic imagery is shared – at what is a terrible time for them all.”
Dulwich and West Norwood MP Helen Hayes, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, have shared their condolences.
Hayes tweeted: “Horrified to hear reports of three deaths on the track at Loughborough Junction station this morning, thoughts with the families of the victims and all affected.”
Khan said: “My heart goes out to the families of the three people killed at Loughborough Junction station this morning.”
