It may have rained like the day the legendary ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ took place in Kinshasa, Zaire but that’s where the comparisons end. For while Ali and Foreman served up a fight that lives in boxing folklore, all that was served up at the weekend was a lesson in humility for Bermondsey’s David Haye.

The build-up, which can now be safely categorised as hype, promised so much and let’s be honest, most of us bought into the fact our man would be too quick for the lumbering Wladimir Klitschko.
