APRIL WANG, HOUSEWIFE, SURREY QUAYS

What's your favourite place in Southwark?
I love the Surrey Quays cinema. I go every week and see some great films there.

What's the best thing about Southwark?
There's a good community spirit and it feels really safe wandering around.
It's also really convenient to get into the centre from here.

Should the taxpayers be paying to keep Northern Rock afloat?
No, I don't think so… definitely not. It's not our fault it went under. I would rather see the money used for construction work.

Do you recycle?
Yeah – of course! I do it to help the environment.

Should obese people be on incapacity benefits?
Well that depends. Technically it's not a disability but if they're obese because of an illness then it's not their fault.
If they just got that way themselves then I don't think they should.

Are you sympathetic about Amy Winehouse's 'meltdown'?
No, not at all. I'm not a fan of her music. I think musicians should be well behaved otherwise we should just boycott their albums.

Have you been following 'I'm a celebrity… get me out of here!'?
I saw several episodes but I'm not a big fan – I prefer 'X-factor.' It's okay but I didn't catch it from the beginning, so I'm not sure what's going on now.

Should Japan be allowed to hunt endangered Huntback whales?
I don't know. That's hard. If they're doing it for research then why do they have to kill them? If they did it without killing them I'd be more okay with that. Or maybe if it's just one or two…

Paris Hilton has just released a new sex-tape. Is she just fame-grabbing?
Yeah – I think so. She is really strange. She's already famous so maybe she's just crazy!

Should David Beckham be kept in the English team?
I don't like him. A couple of years ago he was really good but now he seems more like a star than a football player.
