What is the best thing about Southwark?
I like the community spirit that it has. I lived in Holland Park for 20 years and they don't have the sense of community there is here. Here, everyone knows everyone.
What would you like to change about the borough?
There are things I would change. I would do more for the elderly. There are few activities available so often all they can do is come into the mall every day. I also think they should do more for youths.
What's your favourite place?
The park. You see people from every culture and every nation - I can see people from twenty different nations in one day. You see everyone there - Kosovans, Kosovan Muslims, Lebanese people, Lithuanians and people from the Vietnamese community. I appreciate them all.
State school pupil Laura Spence, whose rejection from Oxford triggered an elitism row, has just graduated from Cambridge. Do you think Oxbridge favours private school pupils?
Absolutely everything in this country is a class issue - it's all down to the way you speak and the way you look.
Prince Harry is reportedly training to pilot an Apache attack helicopter. Do you think royals should be on the front line?
Yes - he's in for a penny and in for a pound. It's a nebulous situation but, if he's chosen to go into this role in life, then he must do the same as everyone else.
Peter Mandelson has been hit by scandal rumours this week. Do you think Gordon Brown was right to bring him back into Government?
I know him personally so, yes, they did the right thing in bringing him back. He's clever and he's astute. He has the three qualities you need to be successful - he's intelligent, he's astute and he's greedy.
There have been a number of cyclists killed on London's roads recently - four in September alone. Do you feel safe cycling in London?
The cyclists are dangerous and they cause a lot of problems themselves. If you see people cycling to Canary Wharf in a morning, they are weaving in and out. It is a terrible situation and something needs to be done.
