POLICE FIND CRACK IN MAN'S PANTS

7 May 2009

A Peckham man found with crack both at the front and back of his pants pleaded guilty to possession of class A drugs.

Greg Sarfo, 32, from the Brayards Road Estate admitted to officers who arrested him on April 22 that he had hidden a quantity of crack cocaine in his drawers, just before police apprehended him.

When arrested he was also found to have a set of small scales in his possession, which he claimed were for his personal use, as well as the drugs which Sarfo said he paid £150 for.

His defence team said Sarfo was a daily user of crack, and asked for a pre-sentence report  in light of this and his positive drug test on being arrested. District Judge Somjee decided to put the case back until May 21, and released the defendant on bail. He warned Sarfo that as a condition of that bail he must keep all his appointments with probation and drug councillors without fail.
