Those thirsting for a life on the ocean waves can gain their sea legs at special sailing courses throughout the summer.

The free training, run out of Surrey Docks Water Sports Centre in Rotherhithe, includes sailing for juniors.

The courses, which cover the four stages of the Royal Yachting Association certificates, get users sailing around the dock in two days and covers knowledge needed for independent dinghy sailing.

There are also kayaking courses with a British Canoe Union instructor and windsurfing.

Places are limited, and a change of clothing and towels are needed. Courses range from £75 for the 2 day beginner's course, £112.50 for 3 days or £160 for five days.
