PRICE HAS A NOSE FOR PROMOTION

On-loan striker Jason Price is planning to sniff out promotion for the Lions and will use the experience he picked up this time last year with Doncaster to get the job done.

The 32-year-old Welsh striker has notched up three goals in his five appearances, since being called in by Kenny Jackett to spearhead the Millwall attack.

Price celebrated his most recent goal, the second against Peterborough on Easter Monday, by donning a big nose in front of the live Sky TV cameras - to mock an old friend up in Manchester.

He told the ‘News’: "My mate up in Manchester is a sergeant in the army and is absolutely ripped. He is huge. He always hammers me about the state of my body and I thought the only way to get back at him was about his massive nose.

"It is great banter, but the big baby said he might need counselling now to get over it.
"I kept the nose in my slips, underneath my shorts and it absolutely stank when I pulled it out."
Price is confident that the Lions are still not out of the automatic promotion race, as they sit three points behind Posh with three games to play.

"I have been in this position before," he said. "And I have watched teams blow up. We saw it with Carlisle last year. When you can see the finish line but can't grab it, you find yourself trying harder and harder and you start to make mistakes.

"But for us, the fans are realistically looking at the playoffs with the outside chance of automatic. So the pressure is off. It's up to the players to dig that little bit deeper and all we can do is win the last three games, to put pressure on those above us."

Lions boss Jackett agreed that the top two were still within reach and said: "It is definitely still on. Things change very quickly in football and we have to keep our focus on our next game and keep the pressure on the people in and around the top two places.

"We are still concentrating on taking maximum points from our last three games and if that takes us into the top two, then that's great. If not, then I want to go into the playoffs being in good form and looking to attack and to win games.

"The playoffs generate a good feeling around a winning club. Being in and around a team with a chance of winning and achieving is a good feeling. They are times to be enjoyed after two or three seasons with a bad start to the campaigns, that have hampered Millwall's opportunity to be near the top."
