What is the best thing about Southwark?
The transport in Southwark is very good. The buses and the tubes have lots of connections, and it's useful having good links to central London.
What would you like to change about the borough?
I think more should be done for the older person. Maybe the government should help the elderly by giving them a discount on the TV license and giving them more help paying their heating bills.
What's your favourite place?
My favourite place is The Ship Aground pub, where I also work. It's a lovely pub with a good, friendly atmosphere. It does the best fish and chips.
A study has found that kids who play violent video games are more likely to be aggressive. Do you think games with violence have a negative impact on our children?
Yes, definitely. I think there should be much stronger controls on violent computer games. When I was younger, kids used to be frightened of violence, but now they don't seem to care and this is dangerous.
It has been revealed that the Conservative shadow cabinet has nineteen millionaires. Do you think people so rich can represent the whole of Britain?
Well I suppose the Labour Party has a few millionaires as well!
There is a problem because many politicians sit up in their ivory towers and they don't have a clue what the everyday person has to deal with. Most politicians are out of touch, from both parties.
The government has launched a new campaign to stop parents from smoking. Do you think scare-tactic adverts actually stop people smoking?
I think the new adverts might stop a few parents from smoking. But we've already had the smoking ban, so people of all ages go outside to smoke now. I don't think it's so much of a problem since the ban.
The government has said there is a possibility of sending British troops to help the crisis in the Congo. Do you think we have a duty to help?
Absolutely not. I don't think we should send our troops to sort out other country's problems. Iraq has ended in disaster and our troops don't have the proper equipment to fight all these wars in foreign countries.
