NEED MORE of a motivation to shed weight than to look and feel better? Well how about helping needy children?
Bermondsey Slimming World members will be taking part in the company's annual slimathon to raise money for the NSPCC.
The Bermondsey groups are asking for residents to join in and embark on the 40 day sponsored slim to raise money for the charity and at the same time lose weight by Easter.
Those who enter will also be entered into a prize draw where the winner could take £1,000.
"The event is open to everyone in Bermondsey, not just Slimming World members. The more people who take part in the Slimathon, the more money we can raise for the NSPCC and the healthier we help families in Bermondsey to be. And as Slimming World has been in business for 40 years next year, we want to make it a record breaking year for all our fundraising efforts," says organiser Janis MacBean. "To celebrate our anniversary we're also entering everyone who takes part in a prize draw to win £1,000.
"Even if someone only has a few pounds to lose we'd love them to join in. Every little bit will help. It's for just 40 days, any time during January, February and March. In this short time many people will lose a stone and drop down a size or even two in clothes. Lots of people who only have a few pounds to lose will reach their goal and still raise lots of money. One member last year only had 10lbs to lose, but she raised over £250."
The Bermondsey groups are held at 10am, 5.30pm and 7pm on Mondays. To join in, pop in to Bermondsey group on Mondays at Galleywall Tenants Hall, Galleywall Road, Bermondsey for a sponsorship form.
