Laurent Hamici competes for the ball

A HAT-TRICK from Laurent Hamici was a major factor in this FA Cup romp, as Hamlet dispatched lower league opposition with some aplomb.
Although Dulwich did what was expected of them it is worth recalling that only a fortnight ago Broxborne Borough, another Spartan South Midlands Premier League outfit, took Hamlet to a replay which was only won by a late goal.
In that period Dulwich have now found a 3-5-2 system that suits their personnel, and in the last two outing have swept their opponents aside.
The only changes from the midweek victory against Corinthian Casuals was the return of Daryl Plummer for Junior Kaffo and Ryan Bernard who replaced the injured Cedric Ngakam, and Plummer enjoyed his afternoon out bagging two goals in an energetic performance.
The nerve settling first goal came after nine minutes as the composed away side imposed themselves immediately on the game. Hamici was busy appealing for a spot-kick, after some contact when the ball was played into his feet in the penalty area, but Benson Paka had the presence of mind to play on when the ball came to him sliding a square pass to Plummer whose accurate shot went in off the post.
The lead was doubled just before the half hour when Hamici, who shrugged off his marker, rounded Kevin Paul in the home goal only to be hauled down in the box. Getting to his feet to take the resultant penalty he calmly dispatched it into the net.
With the Jets being easily kept at arms length it was some surprise that the lead was not extended until just after the break.
This time Gary Noel rounded the keeper after running onto a long clearance, he however squared the ball to Hamici in a better position and with his customary composure he bought himself space with a shimmy before putting the ball into an empty net.
The home side briefly came back into the contest after Jamie Lunan flapped at a corner, with Jamie Arthur bundling the ball home from the resulting melee. But any hopes were ended with sixteen minutes remaining when three Hamlet players breached the offside trap, and when Charlie Howard played the ball into the path of Plummer he again rounded the Jets stopper before calmly slotting home.
Hamici completed his hat-trick in injury time, when good work by Noel and substitute Kaffo found him space in the penalty area, and again his fast feet and calm head was too much for the Oxhey back line and he rounded off a fine afternoon’s work for himself and Dulwich in Hertfordshire.
