Jack’s is a family owned stylish bar-lounge. Hidden away behind Southwark tube, it is a great setting for anyone looking to unwind at the end of a long day. Relaxed by day, the bar takes on a slightly more upbeat feel by night, as a range of chilled out tunes play for all types looking to enjoy a few drinks in the evening, writes Daryl Anderson...

The drinks
Beers and ciders are available for the casual evening drink and Peroni is a much loved option. Jack’s personalised cocktails are available for anyone looking to be a little more adventurous. A bar favourite is the Passion Fruit Martini, made with Passion Fruit Puree, lime juice, passion fruit vodka and rounded off by adding sugar syrup. Another popular cocktail is the classic Mojito.

The food
Fresh food is ordered every day by the head chef, with the herbs and spices giving it a very Asian flavour.
Platters, burgers, small bites and sides are all available. The Asian platter is an excellent choice, made with spring rolls, satay chicken, chipolatas and mixed samosas.
On top of that the Jack’s deluxe burger keeps the staff busy as orders flood in throughout the night!

The room
A large open space inside the lounge adds to the welcoming aura; and the fireplace gives it a nice homely feel. The far corner is allocated to small private functions without being withdrawn from the main section of the lounge and the bar.

The feel
The low lighting and creative decor give a very stylish and accomplished feel.
