THE DARK Horse is just a short walk from the bustling centre of Camberwell Green, writes Jo Harman…

Its excellent location, extensive range of drinks and stylish decor have proved a big hit with young professionals looking for a fashionable yet relaxing place to drink.

THE DRINKS
The Dark Horse specialises in cocktails, with over 50 varieties on offer, including an innovative selection of House Cocktails. Try the refreshing Summer Detox to cool yourself down on a summer's day. Draught beers are reasonably priced and there is an array of wine and spirits.

THE FOOD
Tapas dishes, priced at £3, are available between 12-3pm on weekdays. The Early Bird Menu is available from 5pm on Mondays and Tuesdays where customers can get two dishes for £12.95. The eclectic dinner menu includes crispy pork belly (£11.50) and Moroccan spiced halloumi cake (£8.95).

THE ROOM
The interior is spacious and elegantly designed with plenty of seating. The dark wood furnishings give the bar a classic look, in keeping with the atmosphere of the pub as a whole.

THE FEEL
Considering its close proximity to Camberwell high street the pub has a peaceful atmosphere. The pub's aesthetics and drinks menu bear more resemblance to a West End bar than a south-east London pub but in spite of this it manages to retain the feel of a friendly, local pub where all are welcome.

managerThe Manager: Chris Carbon
We are slightly off the beaten track which means we rely on reputation. We've taken cocktails to another level. It's more of a West End thing but we've kept the local feel.

Bar manThe Barman: Andrew Murch
We get a good mix of regulars. The fact that we're a pub, bar and restaurant all in one keeps it an interesting place to work.

RegularThe Regular: Natalie Birch
It's a gorgeous looking bar with a great atmosphere. It's got a West End look but it still feels like a local.
